6 Mantras You Need in Your Life
Yes, it's that time once again... Post time!
I think this post will be a relatively short post, but an important one. I have discovered over the past couple of months, that there are few things as helpful as repetitive mantras. Originating in both Buddhism and Hinduism, mantras are a word, sound, or phrase that is repeated to aid concentration in meditation. In their most original sense, they were often related to sacred or religious thoughts. They are repeated in order to create a focus in the mind and allow the brain to still more easily in one place. However in today's world, mantras have been diluted to be for everyday use. And though I believe that there are some spaces where we, as a society, should respect the religious use of mantras in a separate way, I think there is immense power that comes with being able to harness the energy of your brain with mantras in everyday life. And on a scientific note, they improve our brain productivity, stimulate our memory, and relieve our stress.
Let's face it, sometimes the world can be a hard place to exist. We can try all we want to be positive and confident, but there are always those days that will get us down. I wanted to share with you all the mantras that make the biggest positive impact on my mood. Some days you just need a jolt of self-love to push to the finish line and then there are days where you will have to repeat the mantra over and over. I know from experience.
Here are 6 mantras that you can use to realize your worth and regain your positive outlook:
All that I seek is already within me.
I am not beautiful like you. I am beautiful like me.
My time is worth too much to waste it worrying about things I cannot control.
I am capable.
Today, I choose to honor myself and my feelings.
I consciously release the past to live in the present.
Please take these and really think on them. It is easy to laugh them off as cheesy and stupid. I know because I've done that very thing a number of times. But I promise that taking 5 minutes a day and choosing one of these mantras will change your outlook on yourself and the world. 5 minutes, that's all. At your desk, in your class, at home with your dog, anywhere. Just try it. Isn't it worth it to take 5 minutes feeling a little foolish, to have 60 minutes feeling great? I sure think so.
Talk soon.
