4 Must-Have's for your Podcast List

Hello again!

My, what a two weeks it has been. I think I have been on about 112 emotional rollercoasters this past few weeks. And even that seems like an understatement. Alas, the train of life never stops. This last week, in particular, the train seems to have run off the tracks and driven head first into highway traffic. Anyone, who is not currently living under a rock or in the forest like Henry Thoreau, will know what I am talking about... yes, I mean the Kavanaugh hearings. I will stray from sharing my political views (which is extremely difficult, due to the fact that I am political science major), but I will just leave a link to this tweet for you to read:

Now, moving on to what I promised you in the title of this post: Podcast time! Do you listen to them? Cause I'm addicted. Honestly, I think everyone should be. Like I said in a previous post, I am a music junkie. I, like many people, listen to music in every moment that I am not actively talking to someone. In this day and age, I think that is fairly common due to our mobile pocket computers. However, I was introduced to Podcasts by a friend a year ago and I have been addicted ever since. They are amazing. Now, before you write this off because you don't listen to music on your cell phone or because you believe that news is pointless, take a second to read this post. I am sure there is something you will be interested in. And if not, then you can feel free to write off podcasts and continue on listening to the white noise of the world.

To me, podcasts are so revolutionary because they are like all the things I want in one. It gives me something to listen to while trying to ignore people on public transportation, it allows me to learn something in the time that I would be wasting otherwise, and lastly it gives me something to talk about when awkward conversations go south. So, if you like learning or informing yourself and you have any interests at all, I am sure that you will like podcasts as well. Because of my loudly-claimed love of podcasts, I thought it would be cool if I shared some of those with you!

This podcast is, and I say this very proudly, everything. Produced by a company called crooked media, this show is hosted by four former aides to President Obama. Every week they are joined by journalists, comedians, and politicians to discuss the newest things in the Trump administration. This podcast is like a poli-sci students dream come true. But, not to worry, it is just as accessible for people that want a funny way to keep up with the news! There is nothing I dislike about this podcast. They present the issues in a funny way that gives me hope for the future of politics and as boring as that may seem to some, I dare you to listen to one episode. You will fall in love and it will become a weekly commuter addiction. Check their show out by clicking here.

Okay, I admit this one is a bit of a cheat but, I don't care! This podcast is hosted by some of the same folks as Pod Save America. In particular, Jon Lovett. A former speechwriter for President Obama, he goes from city to city talking to political people at every stop. This show is just a downright hoot to listen to. Lovett hosts folks in-front of a live audience while playing games, doing impressions, and sharing the rants we all want to share. If you are want a more fun take on politics and news, this podcasts should definitely be added into your rotation. If you want to learn more, click here!

Last but definitely not least, is the Wall Street Journal sponsored podcast Secrets of Wealthy Women. This show makes me feel like a boss on her way to CEO stardom! I know that it does not include everybody, but hey, women deserve their boss-lady time in the sun. This podcast is like a dream come true for all the ladies out there who are trying to get their money right. By including interviews and tips it inspires me on my commute every single time! So, if you are in the game to up your game, this is the podcast for you. Click here to start listening!
